Johnston City Schools accepting donations after student's passing

JOHNSTON CITY, Ill. -- The Johnston City School District issued a  after a juvenile lost her life on Monday in a car accident. 

Four juveniles were in a crash with a stolen vehicle. The Johnston City School District confirms one of its students died in the crash.

The post began with an acknowledgement of Anastiza Miller's passing. 

"Our attention as a high school and district goes into supporting the family and fellow students during this difficult time," wrote the district.

The post goes on to say Johnston City High School will help Miller's family pay for the funeral via donations from district families and staff. Interested parties should drop donations at the school or the unit office through Friday. 

"Thank you for all your support during this time," finished the post.
