...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values of 100 to 107.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Kentucky man arrested for road rage incident

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -- Officials arrested a man from Benton, KY on Tuesday for charges related to road rage. 

Deputies with the Calloway County Sheriff's Office arrested Michael D. Elder, 38, on a warrant out of Marshall County for an April 7th event. 

The incident occurred when a vehicle stopped in front of the victim's car with no warning on 121 North. The victim told officials he assumed the vehicle's driver was in trouble and slowly approached the vehicle. 

The victim found Elder inside. Elder quickly got out of his car and began screaming at the victim. Elder then began to cause harm to the victim's car. 

Officials arrested Elder and sent him to the Calloway County Detention Center. He faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Mischief, First Degree
  • Driving on DUI Suspended License
  • Menacing
