POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- A local artist will teach six art classes in the spring semester at Three Rivers College.Ìý

Local artist Steve Whitworth attended Three Rivers for his associate's degree before continuing to Missouri State University for a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He now directs the Margaret Harwell Art Museum and co-owns Whitworth's Gift Chest Jewelers.Ìý

Three Rivers College has detailed the six courses as follows:

  1. ARTS 131 - Drawing I -- a beginner class in drawing
  2. ARTS 132 - Drawing II -- an advanced class in drawing with more focus on student interest
  3. ARTS 141 - Color and Design I -- a beginner class in fine art
