Marshall County Drug Bust

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. -- Deputies around our region continue to buckle down on drug sellers.

On Friday, four individuals were arrested in two situations involving methamphetamine. One of those cases yielded a reported 290 grams of the drug. Information from the Marshal and Calloway County Sheriff's Drug Task Force describes these arrests.

The first of the situations occurred near Calvert City. Detectives say they stopped a car and had K9 Officer Drax sniff around. Drax reportedly found a positive smell, and officials joined with the Calvert Police Department to find the over 290 grams of Meth. Deputies say they took the car's two occupants into custody.

The information from the Task Force cites the following arrests:

  • Cody Baker, 34, of Cunningham, KY -- Trafficking in a controlled substance of > 2 grams
  • Crystal Whitten-Stoval, 34, of Palmyra, TN -- Trafficking in a controlled substance of > 2 grams

Elsewhere on Friday, the task force says detectives went to Hardin to hold surveillance on the home of Joseph Morgan, for whom deputies possessed an arrest warrant.

Deputies reportedly witnessed Morgan enter a car. The law officials quickly stopped the vehicle and released K9 Drax. Again, the task force says the sniff test yielded drugs.

Authorities arrested Morgan and the driver of the car, according to the Task Force. They cite the suspects with the following charges:

  • Joseph Morgan, 42, of Bowling Green, KY
    • Bench Warrant: Marshal Circuit Court Failure to Appear
    • Trafficking in a controlled substance of > 2 grams
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Kristin Clark, 37, of Murray, KY
    • Trafficking in a controlled substance of > 2 grams
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia

The creation of the task force is similar to what we have seen recently in Williamson County, IL:

The sheriff hopes the community realizes the department is aware of what is going on behind closed doors.
