Man arrested in Williamson County for improper sex-offender registration

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Deputies arrested a man for improper sex offender registration during a traffic stop on December 21. 

Christopher P. Richards was pulled over by deputies around 7:45 p.m. on the 21st. He was driving a 2014 Cadillac near IL Route 13 and I-57. Deputies noticed Richards break multiple traffic laws before stopping him. 

Upon identifying Richards, deputies realized he did not have access to his valid license. 

Richards was given the charges listed below: 

  • Violation, Sex Offender Registry -- Class 3 Felony
  • Driving while license revoked -- Class A Misdemeanor 
  • No valid driver's license -- Class A Misdemeanor

Deputies sent Richards to the Williamson County Jail. He remains there at this time.
