WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man officials say is the source of many resident calls about door-to-deal meat sales on Wednesday.Â
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office says its deputies stopped a truck for traffic violations as they normally would. This stop, according to the office, resulted in the following citations:
- Driving While License Suspended
- Operating Uninsured Vehicle
- Operation of Vehicle Without Evidence of Registration

It was not until officers identified the driver that deputies realized his significance. Brandon S. Poe, the information provided by the sheriff's office states, was the man identified in several resident calls to the sheriff and social media chatter regarding his door-to-door sales of meat.Â
Officials say Poe's actions occurred in a number of counties. Those who called about the suspect stated that the driver of the stopped white truck was aggressive.Â
Speaking of aggressive drivers, the Williamson County Sheriff's Office say its deputies also caught wind of Poe's alleged attempt to hit a person with his truck. Authorities say Poe received an additional citation for Aggravated Battery from Johnson County Deputies.Â
Officials say they brought Poe to the Williamson County Jail, but he has since been released on the Safety Act. He is set to appear in court soon.Â
The sheriff's answer says to reach out to local law agencies with any concerns regarding door salesmen .Â
