GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. -- Officials arrested a man on Friday after chasing him on foot to carry out an arrest warrant.Â
Officials from the Graves County Sheriff's Office arrested Jeffrey D. Blake, 69, of Ridgeway Street in Mayfield, around 3:30 p.m.Â
The scene began when detectives arrived at Blake's residence to carry out the arrest warrant for Trafficking in Methamphetamine. Blake noticed officials and fought back. According to a release from the department, Blake threw a detective's radio away to keep backup from being called. Blake then ran from the scene into the woods.Â
Officials followed Blake. The department said the chase led to a "physical altercation" before an arrest was managed.Â
Deputies say they found over 10 grams of Meth on Blake at the time of arrest, plus Lorazepam, Suboxone and a small amount of Marijuana.Â
Officials locked Blake in a facility out of the county. He faces the following charges:
- Trafficking in Methamphetamine
- Fleeing of Evading Police
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of Controlled SubstanceÂ
- Possession of MarijuanaÂ
Blake was previously arrested for Trafficking in Meth in 2021 and again in 2022.Â
