ST. LOUIS, MO. -- Missouri gas prices have dropped to the lowest state average since May 2021, according to AAA Gas Prices.Ìý
The average price for unleaded gas in Missouri is currently $2.67 a gallon. This average comes out to nine cents cheaper than last week, and 11 cents cheaper than this time last year.
"It’s been more than two-and-a-half years since the statewide average was $2.67 per gallon for regular unleaded,� said Nick Chabarria, a spokesperson for AAA. "While prices will likely keep falling, fluctuations remain possible due to the busy year-end holiday travel period around the corner.�
Cape Girardeau appears to have the highest city average in the state at $2.82. Joplin reports the lowest at $2.50 a gallon.Ìý
