Missouri Lieutenant Governor visits veterans memorial

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Missouri's Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe visited Sikeston's Veterans Park on Tuesday to see new décor honoring former soldiers. 

Kehoe stopped by the park to see the newly added historical light posts and veteran banners. The new features are a result of a project between the Sikeston Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), Sikeston's Parks and Recreation Department and the Veterans Park Committee. 

Partial funding for the project came from a Missouri Humanities Council Grant the CVB received. The rest of the money was a result of fundraising from the Sikeston Honors Veterans Committee. 

The Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities provided support for the additions alongside the Missouri Humanities Grant.
