MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. -- Officials arrested a man on Wednesday morning for reportedly refusing to register as a sex offender.Â
Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office came across Ronald Sulik, 54, of Doe Run, MO., at the Kentucky Ordnance Works. Deputies conducted a welfare check on Sulik and discovered he was registered in Missouri as a sex offender.Â
Deputies say they told Sulik he must register if he planned to stay in Kentucky, and Sulik told investigators he was going back to Missouri. Deputies say, though, that they spotted Sulik back in the area a few days later.Â
Corporal Tyler Davis with the office opened an official investigation into Sulik. Davis spoke with Probation and Parole and confirmed that Sulik had neglected a Kentucky registration. Investigators went on to collect further evidence that Sulik had not ever gone back to Missouri. Deputies used this information to obtain an arrest warrant on the suspect.Â
Deputies found and took Sulik into custody around 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday at a home on County Line Road. Sulik was placed in the McCracken County Regional Jail and faces a charge of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registry.
