...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Scott City man charged for inappropriate sexual acts

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Scott City Police took one man into custody for inappropriate sexual acts relating to children. 

Police charged Joseph Ray Hogeland after a brief investigation. 

A release from the police department said its team first learned about Hogeland's alleged crime from a complaint. After looking into the tip, police charged Hogeland with the following:  

  • Child Molestation, 4th degree -- Child less than 17 years old and greater than 4
  • Possession of Child Pornography, 1st offense 

Police are holding Hogeland at the Scott City Police Department with no chance for bond.
