ULLIN, Ill. -- Shawnee Community College hosted several camps for the region's children this past week.Ìý
As part of the Saints Kids' Camp Summer series, the college welcomes children to the campus for summer camps based around different interests. , those interests included Minecraft, books and more.Ìý
From Monday, July 8 to Wednesday, July 10, the school hosted an Advanced Minecraft Camp. The event was more than your average Minecraft event, ending with a carnival.Ìý
The Little Saints Book Club, meanwhile, met for two events at the Alexander County Extension Center in Cairo. On Tuesday, July 9, readers were treated to a reading of "Dream Big Little" by Vashti Harrison from Steve Tarver. On Thursday, July 11, Rovenna Thomas heard "One Family." All participants received copies of the books following the events.Ìý
Finally, also on Tuesday, July 9, the Saints Kids' Camp spent the day painting. Children went to the Massac County Extension Center to craft ocean-themed paintings.Ìý
