Tennessee man arrested in shooting investigation

MARTIN, Tn. -- Police arrested a man in a weeklong investigation into a car shooting. 

Christopher Thomas Robinson, 42, of Greenfield, TN, was taken into custody as the prime suspect in the incident. 

The shooting occurred on Monday, June 24 around 9:02 p.m. Police responded to a victim who said his car had been shot. The victim was driving along Main Street when an SUV ran the stop sign at College Street, pulled in front of him and stopped at Virginia Street.

The victim, a white man believed to be Robinson, exited the car with a handgun. As he tried to drive around the SUV, the victim's car was shot at by Robinson. Investigators says the victim's car was hit twice, but the victim was safe. 

After the arrest, investigators revealed they believe Robinson shot at the victim's car a total of eight times. 

Police took Robinson to the Weakley County Jail. The office says he will appear at the Weakley County General Sessions Court on Monday, July 1 for the following charges:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Reckless endangerment in regards to firing a 9mm handgun (8 counts)
