WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Deputies arrested three individuals on December 17 after a quick car chase revealed illegal drugs.Â

Elders, Barnes and Partee were arrested Dec. 17, 2023 after drugs were found in their car.Â
The chase began after deputies saw a car break a traffic law near IL Route 148 and Herrin Road and tried to pull it over. The car refused to stop, leading deputies to follow it to a house in the 700 block of N 14th Street in Herrin.
Brandon T. Elders, the driver, immediately drew interest from the deputies for they had crossed paths with him before. Investigators noticed Elders was experiencing shakes and speech-impediment issues while he was trying to get his driver's license. A K9 officer was deployed to sniff out the scene. The dog smelled narcotics.Â
Deputies found Tiffany M. Barnes and Brandon S. Partee in the car as well. Both of these individuals were also familiar to the deputies from previous run-ins.Â
A probable-cause search was issued on the vehicle. Deputies found the following:Â
- Digital scale with Methamphetamine residue
- Handgun holster
- Three jars of cannabis
- Another digital scale
- A Silver Sig Sauer P320 9mm handgun
- Two devices for smoking with Methamphetamine residue
A bag of Meth was also found on Barnes.Â
Deputies confirmed Elders had been previously convicted and issued him the following charges:Â
- Possession of a weapon by a felon
- Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon
- Failure to signal when required
Partee received these charges:
- Possession of Cannabis
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Finally, Barnes was given a charge for possession of Meth.Â
All three of the individuals have been locked in the Williamson County Jail.Â
