WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Officials arrested two individuals on February 24 after uncovering a stolen car from Kentucky.Â
Deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office noticed the silver Nissan driving in Marion without registration. They stopped the car at 10:37 p.m. near IL Route 13 at Carbon Street.Â
Officials identified the driver as Joshua L. Biegel. They said Biegel claimed the lack of registration was due to the car being a new purchase. Deputies said he did produce a valid license.Â
Upon further investigation into Biegel, officials reported three pre-existing arrest warrants on the following charges:Â
- Parole Violation from Kentucky
- Probation Violation from IndianaÂ
- Forgery warrant from Idaho
Deputies took Biegel into custody in the patrol car.Â
A passenger in the car, identified as Graceevelyn A. Biegel, also had a warrant out of Kentucky. The warrant was non-extraditable, meaning officials could not arrest the passenger on it alone.Â
Officials continued to investigate the situation and reported the car as stolen from Louisville, KY.Â
G. Biegel was detained, at which point she told officials she had Meth in the car.Â
Officials brought the pair to the Williamson County Jail. The staff there reported the substance G. Biegel possessed was indeed Meth.Â
