WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Williamson County deputies arrested a woman on March 5 who then tried to sneak drugs into the jail.

Deputies patrolling Dr. Springs Road and Madison Street in Colp reported a car driving in the middle of the street around 11:16 p.m. A report from the sheriff's office said the car swerved around the road until it came to a full stop in front of a home. Other drivers could not move around the car once it was parked.

As officials approached, the car reportedly sped away. Officials followed the car until it stopped in the 200 block of North Madison Street. Deputies said it took multiple tries to get the driver out of the car.

Deputies identified the driver as Brandi A. Kincaid and read her rights. Officials say Kincaid admitted to speeding from the deputies because she hoped to return the car to her mother before going to jail.

A release about this incident said the deputies discovered Kincaid's license was outdated and she had cannabis in the car. The deputies arrested Kincaid and brought her to the Williamson County Jail.

Officers at the jail searched Kincaid at check-in and reported contraband in her underwear. A female officer removed the contraband, which she stated included a glass pipe and a jar full of what tested to be Methamphetamine.

Kincaid received the following charges upon check-in at the jail:

  • Improper parking
  • Improper turn signal
  • Driving with a suspended license
  • Operating uninsured vehicle
  • Feeling/Attempting to elude
  • Resisting arrest
  • Possession of adult use Cannabis in a motor vehicle
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Bringing contraband into penal institution
