WSIL (Carterville) -- It's a scorching afternoon as highs climb back in the mid to upper 80s. Few clouds have begun moving in this afternoon ahead of the midweek system we're tracking but it won't cool off our temperatures.
We're continuing to keep an eye on an incredibly strong cold front off to our west. Temperatures will drastically drop midweek into the mid 70s. The cold front isn't traveling alone, we'll see scattered showers and storms begin late Wednesday with Thursday trending to be a bit of a washout.Â
Behind the front, much cooler air sinks in with highs this weekend in the low 60s and lots of sunshine!
