Two airlifted to hospital after crash on I-57

FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSIL) � Two people are recovering from serious injuries after a crash on Interstate 57 in Franklin County.

A news release from Illinois State Police said 47-year-old Scotty T. Henry of Mounds City was driving north on I-57 just after 10:00 p.m. Monday night when he swerved to miss a deer in the road near mile post 75.

That maneuver caused Henry to side-swipe a semi � driven by 27-year-old Jonathon C. Adams of Jackson, Miss. � that was traveling in the adjacent lane. 

Henry and his passenger, 47-year-old Nedra M. Henry of Mounds City, were both flown to Saint Louis University Hospital for major but non-life threatening injuries.

Neither Adams nor his passenger were injured in the crash.

Charges are pending.
