SPRINGFIELD, Ill.-- Two Southern Illinois University campuses are enjoying the honor of being recognized for their relentless commitment to maintaining their stance for anti-racism, diversion, equity and inclusion.
The Southern Illinois University System says both SIU Carbondale and SIU Edwardsville will receive the 2024 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award. The award is coming from the Insight Into Diversity magazine which organizers say is the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.
The Southern Illinois University System says - The HEED Award is a national honor that recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. The two recipient schools, along with 112 other recipients, will all be featured in the November/December 2024 issue of Insight Into Diversity magazine.ÌýÌý
Organizers say this is the 11th year that SIUE has received the HEED Award, and it is the sixth time for SIU Carbondale to receive this award.
