Updated tornado report shows EF4 tornado tracked 117 miles for 2+ hours from AR to MO

ASH FLAT, Ark. (WSIL) -- The National Weather Service updated a tornado track where it started in Arkansas and ended in southeast Missouri on March 14.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock confirmed the EF2 tornado which hit Ripley and Butler counties was connected to the EF4 tornado which started in Ash Flat, Arkansas.

The start time of the Ash Flat/Melbourne tornado in Stone County, Arkansas, was at 9:11 p.m. This tornado hit peak winds of 170 mph, had a maximum width of 1,400 yards and tracked 117.15 miles where it stopped at 11:24 p.m. near Harviell in Butler County, Missouri, according to NWS.

The tornado track portion in Missouri was 25.38 miles at an EF2 strength.

The tornado is responsible for causing four injuries.
