VIENNA GROCERY UPDATE

VIENNA (WSIL) -- It's been a couple weeks since a fire destroyed the only grocery store in Vienna.

But the owners say shoppers won't have to wait much longer to get groceries in town.

You can go shopping at 97 Red Bud Lane where the Miles brothers are preparing to open a grocery store at a new temporary location.

Owners Chad and Chance Miles say it was tough dealing with that hit Miles Brothers Foods on North 1st Street in Vienna.

"Trying to go day by day and not really knowing exactly what's going to happen. That's one reason we tried to start this as quick as we could to get back in a normal routine," said Chad Miles.

Local residents say they're excited for the reopening. The nearest grocery is at least 25 minutes away. One shopper says he's had to go to Harrisburg.

"And then you've got Marion and Paducah and…very inconvenient if you might need a steak or whatever. And uh--they're good people the Miles boys. I know they're dad also they're just awesome," said Bob Futch.

They say it was important to keep their employees working. For more than a week, they've been setting up a temporary spot next to Marshall Tactical Outfitters.

"Lots of support, we've got good employees, our grocery company where we get groceries from has been very supportive. They've sent somebody here and he's been a very big help," said Chad Miles.

The grocery store opens Saturday. It will run 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
