CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- It was another very warm October day. Temperatures have climbed into the 70s and 80s, despite cloudy skies. Mostly cloudy skies and warm temperatures will continue overnight.
Warm and cloudy will be the theme through the middle of the week. High temperatures both Wednesday and Thursday will climb well above average, topping out near 80 degrees. It will also be breezy with winds out of the south gusting near 25 mph.Â
Our next system will approach the region by Friday. This will bring the chance scattered showers and a rumble of thunder or two. However, the better chance for rain will be Saturday and Sunday. Both days look very soggy, and chilly.Â
The front should make it's way through the region by Monday morning, drying us back out. It will be MUCH colder behind this system. Highs will drop into the low 50s early next week, with our first freeze likely Tuesday morning.
