CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It was a fantastic Tuesday. Plenty of sunshine, below average temperatures and low humidity made it the perfect day to get outside. A few clouds will move through overnight and into Wednesday morning. Overnight temperatures will also stay cool, dipping into the 50s.
Changes begin Wednesday afternoon. It'll be a seasonable day, but much warmer than the last couple of days. High temperatures will climb back into the mid 80s but the humidity will continue to stay in check.
Upper level ridging will slowly increase our temperatures as we head toward the weekend. Highs both Thursday and Friday will climb up near 90 degrees, followed by mid 90s by Sunday. The humidity will also crank up, raising heat indices near the triple digits.Â
A weak cold front is expected to drop through Thursday night and into Friday. This could bring a stray shower or storm but mostly dry conditions are expected through the forecast period.
Make sure you have a way to stay cool, drink plenty of water and don't forget about your pets.Â
