WSIL (Carterville) -- We're tracking a quiet start to the day and enjoy it while it's here. Temperatures as you're out the door are in upper 30s and low 40s. Clouds will begin to move in by mid morning, along with 50 degree temps.Â
The next disturbance we're tracking will bring widespread moderate rain into the region. Rain will begin early evening and will last through the overnight hours, into early Friday.Â

Totals will range from 1/3 on the southeastern side and 3/4 in southeastern Missouri and far northwest.Â
Isolated rain chances are possible this weekend, but confidence is a lot lower than todays showers.Â
Temperatures continue to trend above average not only as we welcome December, but even into the first week.
