...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

5 Vols sign D1 scholarships

CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- On Wednesday five John A. Logan baseball players signed division one baseball scholarships.

Outfielder Drew Winters signs with Campbell. Winters batted .314 as a Freshman with 4 HR and 13 RBI.

Infielder Cam McMillan signs with Lipscomb.

Outfielder Peyton Henry signs with Army.

Right handed pitcher Dawson Taylor signs with Butler. As a freshman Taylor pitched 12.1 innings, going 1-0 with 3 saves and a 4.38 ERA.

Right handed pitcher Tommy Ray signs with Louisiana Lafayette. In two starts as a freshman, Ray went 1-0 with a 7.71 ERA.
