...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Annual Jim Pearce Tennis Tournament Returns to Southern Illinois

Marion (WSIL)-- After having to cancel last year due to the pandemic, the annual Jim Pearce Memorial Tennis Tournament is back on in Southern Illinois. In it's 16th year, the tournament brings in some of the greatest tennis players across the nation. Tournament promoter Joe Perce honors his father with this tournament . In the men's singles finals it came down to two guys from the Illinois tennis team. Lucas Horve won off a retirement and will share a piece of the twenty five hundred dollar purse. Pearce says this weekend is always an emotional one.
