CARBONDALE, IL (WSIL) - Junior Troy D'Amico was the first Saluki to enter the transfer portal following the firing of head coach Bryan Mullins.
On Tuesday, the junior forward told the portal report there are over 30 programs who have expressed interest in him. Those include a pair of Southern Illinois rivals -- SEMO and Murray State.
If D'amico chooses to join the Redhawks or the Racers, he will bring consistency. The forward started all 32 games for the Dawgs this season and averaged 9.3 points per game for Southern.
The Chicago native shot a little better than 37% from downtown while at SIU.
D'amico is the first ex-SIU player to receive interest from other programs.
We'll keep you updated on where he chooses to play during his senior season.
