...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT /1 PM EDT/ SATURDAY
TO 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values 100 to 109 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ Saturday to 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- Let's get you all caught up on all the scores from around the area for Tuesday, March 23, 2021.

Volleyball:

Carterville knocks off Du Quoin 25-15, 25-22 in straight sets.

Elverado defeats Joppa 25-15, 25-10.

Carbondale falls to Centralia in straight sets 25-13, 25-17.

Edwards County knocks off Eldorado in straight sets 25-12, 25-14. Lions improve to 3-1; Eldorado is now 0-5.

Goreville defeats Sesser-Valier-Waltonville 25-23, 25-21.

Woodlawn beats Cisne 25-19, 25-22.

Marion loses to Salem in straight sets 25-19, 25-21. Wildcats are now (4-2) overall.

Massac County takes it in two sets, 25-21, 25-20 over Murphysboro.

Hamilton County knocks off Johnston City two sets to one.
