Jackson advances in Missouri HS football playoffs

JACKSON, MO (WSIL) -- Jackson looked like a number one seed in Missouri's Class 5A as the Indians blanked Poplar Bluff 55-0 Friday night. It was the second victory of the season over the Mules for the Indians. Jackson came away with a 56-7 win on September 11.

The Indians started the scoring in the first Quarter. Scoreless game, 4th and 17, inside the redzone and the Indians went for it. Cael Welker threw it up and Kannen Turley went up and got it.

The passing game set the Indians up for multiple scoring drives. Welker and Turley connected for nearly 220 yards through the air.

The defense pitched a shutout and got in on the scoring. Randol Mcdowell's interception was returned for a touchdown to make it 14-0 Indians.

Tony Williams added a pair of short touchdown runs and Wekler hit Rhet Liley for a late first half score to make it 42-0 at the break.
