CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- There are lots of great high school athletes in the WSIL viewing area, many of them signing with colleges to further their education and careers. Here are some of the recent signings.
Noah Franklin of Cobden scored over 2,000 points in his basketball career and signed with Southwest Baptist University.
Herrin golfer Zoe Williams will attend John A. Logan in the fall and compete on the women's golf team.
Pinckneyville senior Cameron Hawk signed a commitment letter to play soccer at Blackburn College (NCAA Division III) for the 2021-22 school year.
Karrington Lacy of Pinckneyville signed with Mars Hill University, located in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Mars Hill is a Division II Christian-based university. Lacy will compete in Acrobatics and Tumbling. The sport is a combination of cheerleading and competitive gymnastics.
Lory Cox, a Marion High School Wildcat, has signed a letter of intent to play softball for Southeastern Illinois College.
Pinckneyville senior Jade Riley has signed a Letter of Intent to the Competitive Cheer Team at McKendree University for the 2021-22 school year. An outstanding, 4-year cheerleader for Coach Natasha Plumlee's State-awarded Panther Cheerleaders, Jade will join Coach Bianca Bergman for the Bearcats who compete in NCAA Division II and in the annual National Cheerleading Association College National Championship event, in addition to cheering on sidelines for select Great Lakes Valley Conference games and for other performances and events in the Illinois and Metro St. Louis area.Â
