JCHS Football stays unbeaten, rout Hamilton County 58-16 to lock up playoff spot
Unbeaten Johnston City hosted 3-2 Hamilton County; the Foxes entered the game on a three-game win-streak. But this game was all Indians on military appreciation night.Â
JCHS quarterback, Keaton Fort had quite the game. Midway through the first quarter, Fort pitches it to Ben Morgan, he finds a hole and is gone. Morgan takes it to the house for the touchdown. Two-point conversion is no good. Indians strike first up 6-0.Â
The Foxes going for it on fourth down on the next drive, but the JC defense comes up with a big stop. Indians take over on downs and capitalize. Johnston City running backs worked hard in the game, this time it is Cannon Ashmore who is off to the races for the Indians second rushing touchdown of the game. Two-point conversion is good this time around, Indians lead 14-0.Â
The Indians defense forced a Foxes fumble in the final minute of the first half. Two plays later, Fort connects with our WSIL week five Athlete of the Week, Nolan Causey for a huge touchdown reception as time expired in the half. Two-point conversion is good once again.Â
Johnston City led 36-0 at the half, and this game was all Indians the rest of the way. They win with ease and clinch a spot in this year's post-season, 58-16 the final score. Â
