...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Lace them up: Boxing set for June 9 return in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Boxing promoter Bob Arum says he plans to stage a card of five fights on June 9 at the MGM Grand.

It's the first of a series of fights over the next two months at the Las Vegas hotel. A second fight card will be held two nights later.

ESPN will televise both cards to kick off twice weekly shows at the hotel in June and July.

The fights are pending approval of the Nevada Athletic Commission.

That meets next week to consider the events, along with two cards that UFC plans to stage at its facility in Las Vegas.
