CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- McKendree University's bass fishing team took home the School of the Year honors for the secod straight year.
Benton's Trevor McKinney and Carterville's Blake Jackson caught a fish with five minutes go to finish ninth individually at the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. The Tournament was held in Alabama on Pickwick Lake., June 10-11.
McKinney & Jackson's last minute catch helped McKendree University capture School of the Year honors. Just before the big catch they helped a pair of anglers who were stranded jump start their boat. With another fish still needed and a championship on the line, they put that aside to do the right thing.
