...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Beyond the highlights with SIU Baseball

CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- SIU Baseball is 11-0, one of the best starts in program history.

Salukis open up a 4 game series with Evansville, starting at noon on Friday.

Entering Thursday, SIU leads the Missouri Valley Conference in several offensive categories. Team Batting average, runs scored and homeruns just to name a few.

In fact the Salukis as a team are hitting .337, that's good for 8th best in the country.

And we all love the long ball. Salukis have 24 roundtrippers, that's second best in the nation.
