Southern IllinoisÌýmen’s basketballÌýlooks to get back in the win column and end a 4 game losing streak.
To get back in the win column, the SalukisÌýwill have to get by a North Carolina Central team that has made the last three NCAA tournaments.Ìý
Southern IllinoisÌýwill be without leading scorer Aaron Cook, who will miss the next 4-6 weeks due to an injury suffered in the loss against Murray State.
The Salukis haven’t played in a week, but have taken advantage of the extra time. Head Coach Bryan Mullins wants to see his team step up the effort on defense.
"The scouting report is going to be very important for us and we have to be connected on the defensive end. We’ve got to be playing as five guys on that end. The four guys off the ball have to be to the ball and we have to finish possessions off. They are a strong physical team. They are blunt, their 4 man 6-7 230, we have to keep them off the glass," Mullins said.
