...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

SIU Baseball facility in line for major upgrades thanks to new fundraising campaign

CARBONDALE, IL (WSIL) - The SIU Baseball team has launched a fundraising campaign for a new baseball facility.

The team hopes to raise $100 million in the next decade. This money will go toward renovations on the Dan Callahan Clubhouse. 

The team hopes to add to the facility a renovated bullpen and expand elevated seating on top of the pen and down the leftfield line. 

The campaign is part of the Salukis Unleashed initiative. The university hopes this mission will benefit other sports including Basketball, Football, Women's Soccer and Golf. Updates to the Banterra Center and other sporting venues on campus are planned.
