MARION (WSIL) -- Due to ongoing rain, the Southern Illinois Miners home opener against Québec Capitales has been postponed.
The Miners haven't played an in-person game at Rent One Park in Marion in more than 630 days. The team had played some exhibitions earlier this month, but no in season games with fans.
The Frontier League team has played four games so far this season, all away.
The postponed game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday, June 3, beginning at 5:05 p.m.
The home schedule will now open Wednesday, June 2, with a single game at 7:05 p.m.
