
Thrillbillies hold meet & greet for ahead of season, open 2024 campaign on Wednesday night
MARION, IL (WSIL) - Memorial Day is behind us and this means summer time baseball is nearly here.
The Thrillville Thrillbillies are getting set for their second season of Prospect League baseball.
The Billies were in town on Tuesday night signing autographs and meeting fans ahead of the season opener.
618 tap house in Marion was the place to be if you are a Thrillbillies fan.
Manager Ralph Santana did some amazing things with this club in its first year, including a playoff appearance.
The team signed baseballs for fans and were proud to support those who root for them.
After a fantastic inaugural season, which saw the southern Illinois squad host a playoff game, year two has the chance to be even more special.
"The goal this year is to win the division and then obviously win our playoff games and represent the championship give a shot to bring it home," said Jackson Lindsey, the team's first baseman.Â
"Chemistry is a lot faster when you got some of the same guys coming back and we did that they enjoyed it here southern a great spot to play baseball; especially summer ball, so that's why most of you guys came back and the new guys are excited to get going," Manger Ralph Santana said.
"It's awesome. I just beg you all to come out for real, because I mean it's amazing to be on the field or even be in the dugout and look up and see all guys like supporting us and stuff. It makes us want to play harder and makes us have more fun," second baseman/third baseman Bryson Arnette said.
The Billies open their season on the road on Wednesday night at 6:35 against the O'Fallon Hoots.
