...Patchy, Locally Dense Fog Likely Early This Morning...

A humid air mass and light winds will make fog development likely
this morning, especially in low-lying areas and places which
received rainfall over the past 24 hours. Visibility's may drop
to 1/4 mile in some places. Motorists should exercise caution and
be prepared for sudden changes in visibility over short distances.
Remember to slow down, use your low-beam headlights, and allow
extra time to reach your destination.

The fog will gradually mix out by 8 AM. Stay tuned to NOAA all
hazards weather radio and your local media for the latest updates.

West Frankfort and Pinckneyville win regional titles; advance to sectionals

SPARTA, Ill. (WSIL) -- West Frankfort Redbirds celebrated a significant victory by winning their regional championship. They triumphed over Vienna with a score of 16 to 6 in the IHSA Class 2A Baseball Regional Championship.

West Frankfort is set to face Pinckneyville in the sectional championship game on Wednesday.

Pinckneyville secured their spot in the sectional championship by defeating the #2 seed Zeigler with a 12-3 win at Sparta.

The winner between West Frankfort and Pinckneyville will advance to compete against either Harrisburg or Du Quoin for the championship.
