(WSIL) -- This week's student-athlete of the week is Marion volleyball's Haylee Lambert. The junior setter continues to be an integral part of the Wildcat offense.
Marion made it all the way to the semi-finals in the Carbondale tournament this past weekend. Lambert was honored by making the All-Tournament Team. The lady Wildcats also defeated Harrisburg in straight sets on Tuesday and Lambert was able to get every hitter involved in the huge team win.
"There's people that aren't always in our lineup and she found a way that no matter where the passes were she was gonna let them have opportunities. And I like to see every player we have, every hitter that we have hit. She's really good at running a fast tempo offense. We were small, that's something very important for her to do," said head coach Beth Mitacek.
Lambert says there is a lot of chemistry with her and her teammates, having played club with them for years.
