December 12th Evening Weather with Meteorologist Jacie Brianne

CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- Quiet and cool conditions will stick around overnight. However, clouds will begin to increase. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 20s and low 30s by Friday morning.

Friday will be a relatively quiet and seasonable day. Mostly cloudy skies are expected, with near average temperatures. Highs will top out in the upper 40s. Enjoy the dry weather, rain chances ramp up by the weekend.

Rain Chances

An unsettled pattern will set up this weekend and then stick around into next week. Several chances for rain are in the forecast. The first will move in from west to east, during the day on Saturday. No severe weather is expected, but widespread rain could impact outdoor holiday events.

Rain should begin to taper off early Sunday. Rainfall totals look to be near three quarters of inch for most areas, with higher amounts across southeast Missouri.

On the positive side, temperatures will be warming up. High temperatures Saturday will rise back into the low 50s, followed by the upper 50s Sunday.

More active weather is expected Monday, with possible storms.
