...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values 100 to 107 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

A fresh weather pattern arrives today, bringing with it cooler and drier conditions! Expect temperatures today to be in the low 70s, dropping to the mid-50s. You'll also notice some gusty winds, potentially reaching up to 30 mph throughout the day as more stable air moves in.

By Thursday, temperatures will be even cooler and more pleasant, ranging from the upper 60s down to the upper 40s. While the weekend looks to bring back showers and thunderstorms, the cooler trend will continue through Saturday before temperatures start to gradually climb.
