CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- Well our first snow of the season is officially in the books for some of us. We are ending the day with a few leftover snow showers across southern Illinois. Accumulations remained very limited but still a fun event to see. Any leftover moisture tonight could refreeze as temperatures jump down into the 20s. Black ice will be a real issue especially areas that saw accumulating snow. Be sure to use caution if you must go out and about tonight and tomorrow morning.Â

Sunday will remain cold and crisp with temperatures barely getting above freezing. More clouds move in overnight into Monday and we should remain mostly cloudy on Monday. Another clipper type system moves into the region with temperatures staying below freezing all day. This could provide another area of light snow showers across the region in the morning into the afternoon. Since temperatures will have remained below freezing for a while we could see some light accumulations and impacts. Still something we just need to monitor and watch for now.Â
