CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It has been a beautiful end to the week, with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures. The weather should be near perfect for Friday night football games. Clear skies are expected but you may want to bring a jacket. Temperatures around kickoff will be in the low 60s, before dipping into the low 50s for the drive home. Overnight lows will bottom out near 40 degrees.

The weekend looks fantastic for any fall festivities. The warming trend is expected to continue, with temperatures running slightly above average both Saturday and Sunday. Highs will top out in the low to mid 70s. This will be accompanied by abundant sunshine.

By next week highs will rise into the mid to upper 70s. The forecast remains very dry, with little to no rainfall projected.
