The sweater weather sticks around Friday

CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- Keep the coats around. The cold temperatures and breezy conditions will stick around into Friday. Quiet conditions will stick around overnight, with lows dipping back into the 30s by morning. Send the kiddos to the bus stop with the heavy coats.

Afternoon high temperatures will stay well below average Friday. Highs will struggle to make it out of the 40s. On top of the cool temperatures, it will be breezy. Winds will still be out of the northwest, gusting between 15 and 20 mph.

This weekend will bring some relief.  High temperatures will slowly warm back above average. Highs Saturday climb back into the 50s, followed by the low 60s Sunday. It will be a dry weekend, so not a bad weekend to be out and about.

Our next chance for rain will return Monday. A cold front will move through bringing scattered light rain. Right now it doesn't look like a washout. However, it will bring another big cool down.
