...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values up to 106.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

A chance at rain for some

CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- Some ingredients may come together for a chance of isolated showers and storms this afternoon.

The forecast indicates there may be enough energy and moisture, focused in parts of southeast Missouri and western Kentucky, for some brief pop-up showers and storms this afternoon. Otherwise Saturday will be another warm and humid day, with highs in the mid 80s.

A slight cool down is expected Sunday as a weak cold front brings a better chance at some showers on Sunday morning. A mix of clouds, and a slightly different air mass will work to make Sunday feel a bit cooler.
