CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- It was another gloomy day to end the weekend but there's some sunshine in the forecast.
As our current weather system exits the region the chance for rain and snow will stick around overnight and into Monday. Light snow is expected to push in this evening but no major impacts are expected.
Some light snow and flurries could linger into early Monday with cloudy skies. However, a decrease in cloud cover is expected throughout the day leading to some peeks of sunshine by the afternoon.
It will be another breezy day with winds out of the northwest and high temperatures in the upper 30s.
We should see a break in the active weather in the early half of the week but the weather picks up again by the end of the week.
Meteorologist Jacie Brianne will be tracking the snow and will let you know what to expect this week tonight on News 3.
