WSIL -- Very mild this morning with temperatures already in the low to mid 60s. A spot shower or two can't entirely be ruled out this morning through sunrise, but most will not see any rain until later this evening.

Warm and windy through the early afternoon. Temperatures will jump back into the upper 70s this afternoon as strong south winds pump up warm air ahead of a cold front.

Wind gusts from the south up to around 30 miles per hour are possible during the afternoon.

A line of storms is expected to develop ahead of the cold front later this afternoon across southern Missouri and shift east through the evening.

Between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. storms will move across southeast Missouri. Some of these storms could produce gusty winds and small hail, but a brief tornado can't be ruled out.

Storms will begin to weaken as they approach the Mississippi River and eventually cross into southern Illinois and western Kentucky around sunset.

Showers exit by sunrise Thursday morning, but cooler air will be filtering in. Temperatures dip into the lower 60s for highs Thursday afternoon, but the cool down is short-lived with a bounce back Friday.
