SPRINGFIELD (WSIL) � The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has announced 766 new cases of COVID-19, including 91 additional deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 130,603 cases, including 6,185 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois.
On Thursday, the Jackson County Health Department reported four new COVID-19 cases. The individuals are:
- Female � One in her seventies, and one in her nineties
- Male � Two in their forties
The health department says all acquired the disease through close contact with a known case.
To date, there have been 312 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Jackson County, including twelve deaths. Health officials say 39 cases are currently active.
One new case was also reported Thursday in Johnson County. Southern Seven Health Department says a woman in her 80s tested positive.
Southern Seven has had 268 COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths in the region it covers.
