(WSIL) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) says community and mobile testing sites have increased access to COVID-19 testing throughout the state.
According to IDPH, for the second consecutive day, more than 40,000 specimens were tested.
That brings the total number of tests conducted in the state to a little over 2.1 million.
On Friday, health officials announced 1,384 new cases of COVID-19, including 22 additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 159,334 cases, including 7,272 deaths, in Illinois.
New cases reported Friday in southern Illinois:
ALEXANDER COUNTY
- Females: One in her 60s and one in her 70s
To date, there have been 27 cases of COVID-19 in Alexander County. Ten of those cases are currently active.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
- Males: One in their 20s
- Females: One in their 50s
Franklin County has had 68 cases of COVID-19. Of those, 38 have since recovered.
GALLATIN COUNTY
- One male in his teens
- One female in her 70s
Egyptian Health Department says each of the individuals is at home in isolation. There have been 13 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Gallatin County.
HARDIN COUNTY
- One female in her 40s
Southern Seven Health Department reports six total cases of COVID-19 in Hardin County. Five of those cases are still active.
JACKSON COUNTY
- Female: One in her 20s
- Male: One in his 20s, one in his 30s, and one in his 50s
There have been 382 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County, including 19 related deaths. Thirty-nine active cases are currently being managed.
JEFFERSON COUNTY
- Males: Two in their 20s, one in his 30s
- Females: One in her teens
Jefferson County has had 135 cases of COVID-19, including 14 deaths. The health department says 20 cases are currently active and in isolation.
JOHNSON COUNTY
- One male in his 60s
There have been 35 cases of COVID-19 in Johnson County. Of those, 18 have recovered.
RANDOLPH COUNTY
- Four new cases reported Friday, July 17
Randolph County Health Department says there have been 356 cases of COVID-19, including seven deaths, in the county. Currently, 62 individuals are recovering at home.
SALINE COUNTY
- Males: One in his 60s
- Females: Two in their 30s, one in her 40s and one in her 70s
Health officials say all of the individuals are at home in isolation. There have been 35 cases of COVID-19 in Saline County.
UNION COUNTY
- Males: One in his 30s
- Females: One in her 20s and one in her 60s
On Friday, Southern Seven Health Department reported an additional death in Union County as a result of COVID-19. Health officials say a woman in her 90s passed away. To date, there have been 219 cases of COVID-19, including 18 deaths, in the county.
WHITE COUNTY
- One male under the age of 10
- One female in her 30s
White County has had a total of 27 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY
- Males: One in their 50s
- Females: Two in their 20s, one in their 40s and one in their 50s
To date, there have been 188 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including four deaths, in Williamson County. Of the positive cases, 133 have recovered.
